"Creative Topic" 20.1: Movies of 2013
This year a lot of blockbusters
came out. From Man of Steel to Dragonball Z Battle of Gods, there were a lot of
movies. Iron Man 3, Star Trek, Thor: The Dark World, The Hobbit 2, the nerd
movies these days are flowing, and it shows Hollywood has realized nerds want well made
movies of things these like. The book adaptation movies kept going, with the
Hunger Games 2 coming out, there was another Percy Jackson that I’ll have to
eventually watch and wish people would read the book, and the City of Bones produced its own
pile of shit that made me wish people read the book. The Comedies had their own
year as well. Anchorman finally got a sequel, The Hangover trilogy finally
ended, and movies like This is the End came out. Some other movies I didn’t
think would get a sequel did, like Kick-Ass, and Insidious. The horror movies
had the Conjuring and the Evil Dead remake. Also, we had some bad movies. Movie
43 shocked audiences everywhere, Grown Ups was the first and hopefully last
sequel Adam Sandler tries, M. Night Shyamalan struck again, Scary Movie
squeezed another movie out at last, and more. The Oscar types movies hit gold
with movies like Gravity, Captain Phillips, Her, the Wolf of Wall Street,
American Hustle, & more. Also in movie news, Paul Walker passed away, and I
don’t like to pretend to be fans of people I wasn’t when they die. I hate it
when people do that. But his terrible death was one of the most major events of
this year, and I think mentioning it in remembrance of him and mentioning Fast
6 alongside it would be a nice place to end the movie category of events of
this year.
