Episode 4 (Welcome to the New World!) Review
Yeah, Japan is weird. First off, I think
Sato just being a clueless hikikomori helps a lot. A, for Americans like me who
know very little about Japanese culture, him not knowing this stuff and kind of
spoon feeding what is going on is a big help. And then for Japanese, I’m sure
taking a moment and hearing something they’re used to a new person was somewhat
eye opening. But yes, this was the first I heard about this shit when I watched
this for the first time. And Japan
is weird, but it’s all about culture shocks. But just the name the New World is perfect because he’s surrounded by all this…
fantasy, there’s practically nothing real. I made a creative topic recently
about this, it’s like number twenty three or something, you should check it
out. But anyway, after all this stuff, he gets smacked with possibly the most
real thing he could see, his old fling from high school. And yes, sometimes you
see the person you want to see the least at the place you don’t want to be seen
in the most. And sometimes you gotta run. But that was the cliffhanger. But for
the summary, since I kind of skipped that part. The new duo can’t get
inspiration for the game, (well pretty much just Sato) so they go to the heart
of otaku culture. Then as I said before, after a day of weird, he sees his old
friend. But I really liked this episode because it was so new to me, but I
can’t really say it was great. It was a little much. I’m sure somebody who is
really relating to this is just taking a good look on life, but for me, I’ll
just nod my head with a smirk and keep going.
