Elimination Chamber 2014 gets a 3/5
So about three days ago, I
watched Elimination Chamber. And yeah, it was a lot like the Royal Rumble.
There was one really good match, some good matches, and then the main event,
which was a disappointment. But like the Royal Rumble match, the match itself
was good. Just the outcome was disappointing. Okay, let’s go over everything.
First, Wade Barret had his best Bad News Barret yet. I’m from Minnesota, his quips about them I thought
were hilarious, and I even knew a guy who went to the show. Anyway, that was
really good. But first they had Swagger and Big E. Like I said on the last Raw
review, they did something, and it brought enough hype to make this match
count. And they did good, no complaints about Big E going into the big stage as
the IC champ. The Usos and Outlaws, eh. I’m still conflicted. I want the Outlaws
to go the big stage as champs, but I don’t like them being friendly heels. But
whatever. Darren Young and O’Neil, again, don’t know. Didn’t love the Prime
Time Players, but nobody really hated them. But it’s like Cryme Time all over
again. And Tidus isn’t doing much with his character, and so I don’t really see
the point of this breakup if it doesn’t go to a point B, but maybe it will, who
knows. Then the Shield fought the Wyatts, and holy shit, that was a good match.
Probably my favorite six man tag ever, but then again I haven’t seen too many
awesome ones. But yeah, fucking loved the match, I was marking out the whole
time. Everyone was on top game, it was a fantasy match come true, and my boys
brought home the victory. That’s two for two the Wyatts have stolen the show at
the paperview. Then AJ fought Cameron. I actually would have like to see AJ vs.
Naomi, but what can you do. Still not a bad match, and that Tamina tension at
the end!? Yes, Tamina vs. AJ, that’s my Wrestlemania divas match. But it was still
a duller match, not something to mark out over. But then Batista fought Del Rio. I had to help
make dinner, I didn’t get the full thing, but I got the scoop, end, and
highlights. And yeah, clearly they’re not doing the Batista thing right. My Minnesota people were
not pleased that night, man. But yeah, not really a match people care all that
much about. Make Batista look good, I guess that’s what they’re going for but…
opposite reaction. Then the big Elimination, and it was good. Christian off the
cage, Sheamus kicking through another, Orton getting chanted at that he was a
pussy, hell yeah. But of course, that end. Quit making people stop liking
corporate Kane! He’d be cool if you weren’t throwing him under the bus of
burying Daniel Bryan. But yes, wonderful match. Cesaro I thought should have
left cooler, but it was very nice. But yeah, Shield and Wyatts was easily the
highlight, and the other matches kept it going. I was entertained, and my
expectation didn’t fall off or anything. I was expecting Orton to win after
all.
