Episode 96 Review (Deadlock! Sanin Showdown!)So our arc wraps up as Sanin battle rages on. And yeah, it’s a good fight. I thought a giant snake, slug, and toad fighting would be really awkward, but the fight is really cool. And meeting Orochimaru’s giant snake and Tsunade’s giant slug was also really cool. The snake is a bad ass, just saying. And things go further, as the actual Sanin start to fight. And yeah, it’s mostly just Tsunade going apeshit on Orochimaru. And who doesn’t want to see that happen? And it’s the first time where I didn’t call bullshit on the fighting. And finally Orochimaru leaves by… sinking into the ground. And then Kabuto just disappears. I mean… can just Kabuto die? I mean, why not? It feels like not enough happened. We have a new character and she’s the new Hokage, but can’t the arc be a little bit bigger than that? I don’t know, just leaves a little bad taste in your mouth when they just get away so easily. But Tsunade who is so low on chakra her true form is revealed (of course we don’t get to see it) and soon they go for a bite to eat. And Naruto and Tsunade clash again, but before beating Naruto’s face in, she symbolically kisses him on the forehead, like she did her brother and boyfriend who were in Naruto’s position. It’s very awkward and cheesy. Like ten out of ten awkward and cheesy. In the manga it was better executed. But it’s kind of a good cheesy. And the team leaves, and the arc closes on a very cool picture. Anyway, this episode is great too, I really liked it. It closed the book quickly, which I like, and I felt everything that needed to be done was. I don’t really have any complaints. Just all in all, a great episode.
