I remember when I first heard the album, my brother and I was skimming through the tracks. And I remember for awhile just being offended by this one. I don’t know why as much, but the concept used to bug me. I found the idea of wishing people were dead such a despicable concept, especially since part of the song is like, "hey relate this idea to people you hate.” And probably the worst part of the song is part where Eminem says say this to someone you hate. But otherwise, this is a likeable track. The lyrics are clever and really seem up Eminem’s ally. It’s mostly about a chick, and just a weird story where the chick is cheating on him with all these others rappers, and it’s just weird. And I say I used to hate the concept, but Eminem has worse. He has songs about killing his girlfriend, rape, and probably worse things. But of course it always matters how you do it. The past songs that have crossed the line have done so on purpose, and have strange artistic values. I don’t get mad at a movie when the bad guy kills the good guy, so I don’t on these tracks. But I think part of the reason I didn’t like the song at first was the barrier between real and fake was broken by the part where it feels like he says "say this to somebody you hate.” But I think a large amount of people have at point thought this thought that the song is conveying. Not to mention, the anger and vulgarness displayed in the track is probably the feeling a person gets when they think this. And when you’re at the point when you say, "no fuck it, I don’t care.” Then the song is acceptable. And that’s where the song resonates, and at that one point. And the song wants to hit that point, and it does so better than tracks like Asshole was trying to resonate with. And when you go off the track in a grumble like mutter of how you hate this person, then you know what the song is. A part of Eminem’s songs that make them okay is self awareness. Songs like Kim I don’t think were self aware enough, but this one on the other hand, definitely is, and is comfortable where it is.
