So this episode at first focuses on the Naruto and Sasuke rivalry and just how crappy Gato made other people’s lives. The little poor kid who asked Sakura for food and the store with less food than a house should have was sad and made you care a little more for these people. Naruto and Sasuke meanwhile are still climbing trees, and it’s one of their more competitive moments. Then for the rest of the episode we get a back-story on the kid Inari and the guy that grew to be a father to him. A man who was the village hero was executed in front of the village as a sign to not be a hero. That’s usually what corrupt corporate leaders do. And the earlier part with the dog I remember watch when I was younger and thought it was the most terrible and screwed up thing in the world. Anyway episode as a whole was a low six. It was interesting and a good back story, but it could have been rushed and hurried along a bit better. Not a bad episode by any means, just not that good. I feel it does help with the Land of Waves characters, but in the end you do know they’re not major characters to the story and it’s somewhat irrelevant to the story. Anyway still not a bad episode, just not very good.
