And finally, the third exam is here! That being said, this thing takes a little while to get going. There’s a lot of scenes of everyone in the stands, the guys down on the field ready to battle, and of the Kazekage meeting the Third Hokage and taking a seat next to him to watch the fight. But the scenes aren’t bad, just the usual extra flab that the longer animes are known for. Then Naruto begins his fight with Neji, and to be honest it doesn’t look like Naruto can win at all. Neji has zero way for him to get a hit, and he just looks like he’s playing with him. Naruto tries some shadow clones, but they don’t work in the slightest. Neji then gets into a little discussion about destiny (he does that) and is pretty much like, "I hate to say it, but you’re a big piece of shit, accept it. Actually, I love saying it! You’re a piece of shit!” That’s the impression I got at least. Anyway episode ends just as Naruto summons a bunch of shadow clones to his side and seemingly will enter the fight guns blazing style, which is the exact way you don’t want to fight Neji. Just saying, I know the winner of this fight, and it feels like either could still win. Anyway the episode as a whole is good, and starts off the fight while also giving those extras scenes, which is what it tries to do. It’s a good episode, and doesn’t really have much wrong with it. And even though it won’t happen, I’m just waiting for Naruto to summon Chief Toad and everyone watching with dropped jaws.
