Finally! No more Snake Way! Although the name of the episode makes it seem like it’s going to be about Goku finding the end of Snake Way, it’s actually more about Gohan and Piccolo. In a strange twist, in the midst of their training (which it shows in the beginning is going really good really quickly) Gohan one night has a sudden uncontrollable rage, and attacks Piccolo. This is due to Goku’s spaceship from when he arrived on Earth making a substitute moon for the one Piccolo blew up. This puts a strange ape like almost transformation not really seen at any other point in DBZ, but soon Gohan grows his tail back, looks up at the moon and transforms. After a few minutes Piccolo finds the ship, then blows it sky high. Although the ship idea was cool, there really never was a big point to it that I saw. It’s good, but just unnecessary. Also besides Gohan, Piccolo, and Goku, this episode has Roshi and the others, and you see as they celebrate at finding the dragonballs. This scene is actually really nice, and I like whenever I can see Roshi being wise. And even though this scene is cool and you have Piccolo and Gohan, (he even cuts his tail for the final time which is actually pretty big) I like Goku FINALLY reaching Snake Way the best. You really felt the end of a long journey, and when I thought he almost fell into hell again the first time I watched it I was really pissed for a second. When Goku lands on King Kai’s planet that was introduced for the first time, he wasn’t used to ten times gravity, which later in the series is very tiny. But you get the moment where King Kai meets Goku in all it’s awkwardness, and that’s another great moment. In the end this episode just had a lot of well known moments that I really like, and it didn’t do anything wrong. Plus it was the debut of not only King-Kai, but BUBBLES THE MONKEY! I like King-Kai better, but Bubbles and another character introduced soon make this an awesome little trio, one that feels like a little family that you only get to see when you die.
