Episode 3 (Giovanni) Review
Yes, I’m glad this got its own episode. Basically Red finishes his trips of gym badges with the leader of Team Rocket himself, Giovanni. At first they battle at Silf Company, and Red gets his ass beat. After that he finishes the other gym leaders off until the Viridian City gym leader reveals himself, and it’s Giovanni. He fights him, and it’s actually a really dope fight. We get Giovanni’s past, and how he grew from a kid loving Pokemon to a businessman of Pokemon. And yes, it had that awesome ending. Afterwards, he disbands Team Rocket, turning into a good guy! And yeah, it’s a really simple episode, but really grabs you. The battle was long and entertaining, and you really get a sense Red has gone through a lot, despite only three episodes have taken place. It’ll be bad ass that ending, but this was a good pre-start. Giovanni is probably better in this than any other time I’ve seen him. And so yes, very great episode, and a very awesome battle.
