Episode 2 Review (Cubone) Episode 2 (Cubone) Review
Well with four episodes, and three entirely dedicated to cramming the plot within it, we get an episode to mess around. And they decided to go with the Lavender Town mission. So basically Red goes to Lavender Town, or creppyville, whichever. He after a very disturbing incident with a white hand on his shoulder sees the Pokemon House, shortly before going to the Pokemon Tower. (Lot of Pokemon buildings around, aren’t there?) Anyway, there he learns about Cubone, a Pokemon whose mother was MURDERED by Team Rocket. (PG enough for ya?) and so now it’s basically a dick. But Red goes to Pokemon Tower, where Mr. Fuji is held captive, and Team Rocket has taken over. On top of that it has a ghost lurking about. So him and Blue go in separately, and it goes to shit pretty quickly. Team Rocket attacks, and Red has to fight the ghost. After Blue gets the Silf Scope from Team Rocket, he gives it to Red, and finds out the ghost is Cubone’s mother. Once there Cubone shows up, and they live happily ever after. Team Rocket gets kicked out, Mr. Fuji is saved, and everyone goes about their business. Not before Mr. Fuji gives Red a Pokeflute and a very curious gem… ah those clever assholes. Anyway, it’s another great episode. Lavender Town brought to anime form, I’m down for it, and it did move the plot forward at a pace I kind of wished the entire series was, but then again having only four episodes has advantages. (I’ll probably get to review the entire series in one day) But I really just liked hearing the old game music, seeing buildings that look how I would think they would in the games. It’s all very bad ass, and of course nostalgic and classic. (got to use those words in every review)
