Episode 5 Review (A New Order)

And we have reached episode five, and like I said in the last episode, we are introduced to Anna, my favorite character from the video game I played. That being said, I almost like Anna when she didn’t talk. When I first actually heard her voice in the game, I was taken back by how high pitched it was. Nothing against her English dubbed voice actor (and yes, I’m reviewing this on the dub, dub haters get over it) but I just never imagined Anna’s voice like that, but I was almost used to it by the time the episode ended. I don’t think Anna will remain my fav character by the time the anime is over, I hardly consider her my favorite character five episodes in, but she does seem all right. She apparently is engaged I guess you could say to Yoh. She apparently had saved Yoh when he was young, and he promised her he’d marry her when he turned into Shaman King. It seems kind of childish introduction, but I can see it. She pretty much seems to want him to be Shaman King so she becomes Shaman Queen, but I can see it being a childish way for her wanting to be with him. Or maybe she’s just selfish as shit, I don’t really know. Throughout the episode she exerts total bitch mode, and works not only Yoh into total training, but has Morty cooking all her food, and Amidamaru as captive. Like really, it gets pretty incredible how badly she turns Yoh into her bitch. With how many anime characters or characters in general where the female role is only innocent and simple, I like Anna. She’s a total bitch and will hopefully grow from it, but for now she’s all right. Meanwhile while all this is going on, Len’s sister who’s name I haven’t figured out yet is apparently trying to take Yoh out for Len. Even though she seems strong, rather than taking him out directly, she seems to want to place a hit on him, and have other people do it. But she even went to watch the fight and wasted her time, so I’m not sure exactly why she didn’t fight. Anyway this episode was really good, Anna was introduced, and I actually am happy she’s joined the Shaman King family. Not only that but we feel something brewing in the dark, and it’ll likely end like how all these things do, in an epic battle of epicness! Shaman King!
