Episode 8 Review (Avatar Roku (Winter Solstice, Part 2))

Aang meets Roku Episode 8 Review (Avatar Roku (Winter Solstice, Part 2))

I haven’t done an Avatar review in awhile, and I felt like coming back to this universe, so I thought a review would be good. And just saying this is a fantastic episode. First there is this big fun scene where they’re crossing over into the fire nation. And Zuko is on his tail, and it’s like a big clash. And Appa is dodging fireballs, and it’s a really cool scene. Then the Avatar Team gets to the temple. And the temple being in Fire Nation boarders, over the last hundred years has become pro Avatar to kill Avatar on sight. But Aang pumps into a guy who still respects his duties, and bows to Aang to show he is still on his side, and knows he’d have to betray his people just to protect the Avatar. So he takes him to the big room where he can speak to Roku.  Meanwhile Zuko passes onto fire nation boarders tailing the Avatar, but Zhao allows him to do this because he obviously wants him to lead him to the Avatar. But Zuko raises the smoke to hide himself, and gets in a boat and goes after him on his own. But the door is still locked and needs five firebenders to open. Sokka tries his way of opening it, but it doesn’t work. Or does it… yes it looks like the Avatar has gone in, so they hide and the other guys who heard the noise open it. And just when Aang’s about to troll face his way in, Zuko suddenly has him. But Aang kicks his ass like a child again (odd considering their age differences) and then Aang hops in, and gets the message from Roku. Not a very pleasant one either. He tells him that big comet is on its way, and when it comes, the Fire Nation is basically going to destroy the entire world. So now there is a deadline. So then Aang comes out, and he is now Roku. He has his power and his body even. He in that state can take the powers of all his ancestors, but their body is a whole new thing. And he tears shit up. Then everyone leaves, and it’s all big. And then there is this shot I love. It’s just a big image of the team as they travel in the moon. And everything just hits, and it’s a very good scene. And you just say wow. It’s a fantastic episode, I’m just wondering why it’s a part two. Don’t make my job harder by making long names if it’s not necessary!  But yeah, really great episode, really as good as it could have been.
