And from what I’ve gathered Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass is her most popular song. If you’re wondering if this is going to be included in the album review, as it is a deluxe edition, the answer is no. I go from just the standard songs, nothing more. But I will review the song, just know this will have no affect in the album review. Let’s go from point a to point b like we did Moment 4 life, a song I consider much better than this, and even that isn’t much. Anyway, first she says the song is for the dudes with the booming systems, and by this she pretty much means the dude she’s referring to the rest of the song. And after that she says how he has stacks, how awesome he is, and he might sell coke. (Didn’t she refer to her dad doing coke in an earlier song? So we’re suppose to be sympathetic to that when she’s bragging about the dude who possibly could have sold it to him… okay) And after that, it’s a barrage of how awesome this dude is. And it’s dull, and bubblegum lyrics to be played on the radio. And then hook hits, and it’s a repetitive lyric, that I’ll admit is just suppose to be a catchy radio sound, and for that I guess it succeeds. I prefer that to the lyrics we just heard. Just expect boom, boom, boom, boom, like it’s the fucking Black Eyed Peas. And then the next verse hits and it’s more of guess what, more of how awesome this dude is she’s going to sleep with. And after that, the hook plays again. Boom Badoom boom, yeah expect that a good amount. After that it gets a little creepier to when she says "I need you in my life for me to stay,” and she begs the dude not to leave. Yes, cause the coke dealing dude with stacks must have a great personality, right? And then guess what? Boom badoom boom, and the hook ends it. So we have basically a lazy repetitive pop song (this isn’t rap to me) In a song like Moment 4 Life, I just wanted that last verse, but this has enough shit in the verses I don’t want anymore. As for sound, yeah it’s catchy, just nothing more than that. The little kids singing boom badoom boom, they don’t give two shits that they’re singing about a chick sleeping with a drug dealer. (Oh I’m sorry, a possible drug dealer) I’d rather hear a song where she’s talking about making stacks and being awesome over her fucking a dude who’s awesome and making money, at least that’s making the male dominant rap less dominated. This is a female song talking about how awesome a dude is, and if it was a dude rapping I’d say it’s another track about how much chicks he can bang. I remember saying I liked the Check it Out song on this album. And that’s because will.i.am helped show it wasn’t to be taken as a rap song, and just a radio song. And it wasn’t repetitive, and the lyrics although terrible, they didn’t bug me like they did here. They said Check It Out a million times, but it still somehow wasn’t repetitive as this. And god dammit, another techno beat? Seriously, it really is getting terrible. Now, I know I said all this shit, but it doesn’t really matter. It’s not suppose to be a lyric masterpiece, hell it’s almost suppose to be shit. Does it make a summer energy that is more on the positive side? Yes, I can say that it does. But on a critic side, it sucks, on a personal level of how much I like it, I don’t. But it’s not like Nicki’s fans care, most of them don’t think the song has a point, (which it hardly doesn’t) and even if it did, they wouldn’t know what it is, or care what it is. And why, why does this song have the most views? Even she has songs way better than this, I’ve even reviewed some, and she’s featured on songs that I really like. As for the music video, it’s about all it can be. Expect Nicki showing her ass a good amount, these are the music videos to do that in. (Although they’re in all of them, even the ones where she’s at least trying to be deeper) So yeah, it has some good things, none of them are on Nicki’s part, and the rest are pretty terrible.

Super Bass gets a 3/5
