Naruto: Clash Of Ninja Review

 Naruto: Clash Of Ninja Review
Genre: Anime Fighter
Developer: Eighting
System I played on: Gamecube
Year: 2006

About half a year ago (as the time of this writing) I added a new game to my collection for the low price of two dollars. I believe I got my money's worth, but it's kind of sad I actually have to question that. Don't get me wrong, I like fighting games, and I like Naruto. But there is a level of content that is required for a product to be on shelves. I want to get everything off my chest before I get to the good, okay? This game has a total of EIGHT characters! I might have missed one or two, but EIGHT!! I'm pretty sure I'm right, and if I am there are more stages than characters! Look at the cover, count em all up, because that's all you get! I don't mind short games, but if I can play this game once and I think I'm already ready to review it, that's just sad. I put the game I think three times, and the third one I just did to remind me of the forgettable experience. Hell, I won't call the developers lazy for only making eight characters, I will call them lazy for making the game to short! Listen, you can make a one hour game, hell you could make an amazing one hour game. But this doesn't count! This doesn't have any replay ability to go back and play, it's forgettable, and I can tell this had little effort gone in. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just the little good is so tiny! Okay, I will get on to the good. I will admit the game has pretty decent graphics, a fair amount of numerous modes, (even though they're not really fun) and the fighting is the best part. Hell, if it didn't have gameplay as good as it is, I probably would have given it a one out of ten. But no, I would even put the gameplay on the same level as the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games on the PS2, even those are way better. Clash of Ninja isn't terrible, but it's like they took a part of a game, and then handed it to me. It's a long demo, and to me that doesn't even deserve average. I don't know why the game's so short, or why there are only eight characters, but all I know is that's not enough to entertain me enough to keep the game in for a long time. I've played the sequel on the gamecube, the rest of the series I haven't yet. If you know about the Naruto story line  then you'll know this game only goes to the Land of Waves part. Some people find it disappointing when Naruto games only goes to the Garra fight, but at least those game's feel fleshed out, and I believe time was spend on them. As long as something like this isn't on my shelf again, I'll be happy, cause as long as developers continue to half ass a product, then don't even give content long enough for the game to be good, then things like this will happen more often.
