This episode is basically the take off of Earth. But unlike the last episode it actually is a lot more entertaining, and actually has some character growth. You think back to the first five episodes how Gohan was, and see him now in front of Chi-Chi who is trying to baby him still. Gohan even trains even though still injured, which for Saiyans really helps. Chi-Chi thinks he can’t even walk by himself, and Gohan’s jumping around the hospital. But the moment he feels like he’s being babied he calls it off by telling his mom he’s going to Namek with Bulma and Krillen. The hospital scene is actually really kind of funny at parts, and it shows how much Gohan has grown. And after ten days the gang is ready to leave, Bulma and Gohan even got haircuts. Maybe Krillin would have got one if he wasn’t bald also. In this episode you really see a new little gang arrive, and that’s between Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan. They have a really good chemistry that reminds me of a more Dragonball themed time, and after all the fighting your ready for a few adventure themed episodes. Also these couple of episodes are really the only ones that Bulma is an actual main character. However she was acting really weird in this episode. She was being bitchy to the guys, taking off before they were ready, and I don’t even know why. I guess it doesn’t matter, but what’s important in this episode you feel a spark of the future, and it really is cool that these smaller characters who were hardly used in the Saiyan Saga are getting their chance. (Krillin and Bulma I mean, Gohan was definitely a main character of the Saiyan Saga) Anyway I thought this was a good episode, a low one, but it proves just getting the ball rolling can be entertaining, and all the characters were also being themselves, which made it nice in the end. And with that we have one more episode left in Season One!
