Episode thirty-six is basically everything it says, the pickup up of the pieces of the fight after Vegeta. Bulma and the others pick up the injured warriors and take them back to the ship for recovery. The over a year reunion happens, and it’s pretty cool, however chi-chi is a total dick to Goku. After a year she’s still mad at him? Anyway it’s actually pretty depressing for a long period of the episode, and they almost backtrack on everything that’s happened. They go back to even collect the bodies of Piccolo, Yamcha, and Tien. There’s a lot of sad music and crying Bulma, but after all that’s happened it’s understandable, and she get’s over it quickly. After that however Krillin tells all about how they might be able to revive the others if there are Dragonballs on Namek. After some talking with King-Kai, they find out that yes Namek is inhabited, and yes the Namekians are peaceful. They find out that they could use Nappa’s spaceship to go to Namek, and think everything is all right with that idea, and the episode ends on a nice hopeful tone. The episode as a whole I find just average, but I don’t expect anything else. It’s the falling action, one without a conclusion coming, only the beginning of the next chapter which defeats the idea. It just gets the ball rolling on the future, and takes a big sigh of relief after the Saiyan Saga. With a show as long as DBZ I can excuse a couple episodes like this, and cause it was nice to see the gang coming together after a long year, I still think it gets the character badge and can be looked at positively.
