Mega Pokemon! "Creative Topic" #16"Creative Topic" #16: Mega Pokemon!  So recently there’s been a shit load of Pokemon news. And because I wanted to wait until I knew what it all meant, and because I’m pretty much always behind on these topics, I’d thought I’d give my thoughts on it. First, the big ass one, there is MEGA-POKEMON! So apparently a bunch of Pokemon are getting transformed, but it’s not an evolution, it’s a mega-evolution. Pokemon like Lucario or Absol are getting all new transformations that are different from normal evolving. They are given like a stone during battle, and they transform once in battle. So basically we’re getting new Pokemon, with full character designs, but they might not actually be in the Pokedex. And good God, this was a great idea. First people talked shit, they looked at it like normal evolutions, and they weren’t liking change. But fuck, I love this idea! Mewtwo and a starter Pokemon have gotten these evolutions, so that means the wall has been broken! Literally, I want every fully evolved Pokemon to be able to do this. It gives each Pokemon unique form, and can reach all new ideas. I don’t battle competitively, so maybe this will fuck up somebody’s strategy or whatever, but adapt dammit! Adapt for me having all these cool new Pokemon! So new forms, new types, new games… what else could be better? Ah, a new anime! Yes, they announced Pokemon: the Origin. And yeah, it’s pretty bad ass. It’s probably only going to be a movie, or a short twelve episode spin-off, but that’s still epic! It’ll be about Red, and more follow the manga and games, and Ash doesn’t exist! I haven’t watched the anime in awhile, but I tried watching Black and White, and it was like watching a little kid show. I really wasn’t into it, and I love Pokemon and anime. And with the anime being so old and not trying anything new until it ran into the ground, rather than just destroy it, why don’t we get a new anime? I want this anime to be THE ANIME of Pokemon. I like Red more than Ash, I really do. And I read the first volume of the anime, and even though they’re not really following it (he has a Charmander instead of a Bulbasaur) it’s still bad ass we might see it. Also there might be a Pokemon game on the Wii U, and even though I probably won’t be able to play it until… probably the next console generation (I just got a Wii the other day! Only a generation behind!) but I’ll be very happy that day many years from now!
