Awkward gets a 3/5
Recently I’ve been listening to more Tech N9ne, and I thought for my first review of his I’d do it at random, and I got awkward. And awkward is on Tech’s more recent album Klusterfuk, which only had six songs, but since this man puts out multiple albums a year, I don’t care. First, I really like the instrumental, especially at the start of the song. After that the verses are mostly just recollections of Tech N9ne’s awkward times. And I really like the hook, it just reminds me of all the those socially awkward moments in life. And like klusterfuk the song, it just makes the sense is kind of awkward. Some parts I don’t like, like the hook does play a good amount, and there’s a outro where he doesn’t rap, he just talks about this one time he had this weird moment with B.o.B. But just saying, it oddly fits. It’s funny, but I don’t want to hear that whole story every time. But it fits! The song it suppose to be awkward! So on the good side nice instrumental, nice hook although played a little too much for a three and a half minute song, the verses are put together nice, and Tech N9ne hardly ever doesn’t deliver on good word play. It’s fun while being awkward, and is also bad ass. Yeah, not sure how that happened, but Tech N9ne would be the guy to make it happen. And I liked how in the second verse he was bragging about chicks, then he totally just flipped that shit on its head by making it funny. And funny, that’s another good. And best of all, it hits because a song about being awkward, I can get into that shit. Although that outro can get annoying, and I do wish it was a little bit longer, it just feels a little bit rushed. Also in the outro he for some reason kept repeating the fact he was sizzling. And that became funny after I started really noticing it. But all the faults I feel are knit picking the shit out of it. It’s a good little song that fits right into a klusterfuk.
