And episode twenty-seven introduces Lyserg. Lyserg at first is just shown mercilessly beating up Shaman fighters, saying he’s trying to fight someone strong enough, but otherwise is a nice guy. And I know from the video game even though he seemed different in, he’s going to join the team. But he’s kind of a dick in this, and I’m watching the dub, and I don’t like yet another voice actor. Damn it 4kids, why can’t you just let funimation grab this first? Anyway, Lyserg is still kind of cool. He’s kind of too much of a dick, and he’s just out for revenge against Zeke, who killed his parents. So he’s trying to find a partner strong enough to defeat Zeke. I guess having a vendetta where you get your hands dirty was done too much before for Lyserg. Anyway, Lyserg eventually runs into the chicks from the last episode, and quickly defeats them. They send him in he direction of Yoh and his gang. He finds Rio, and Rio befriends him and says he can join the gang. (He also thinks Lyserg’s a chick, so shows how much he knows) But the others aren’t so trusting, and that’s understandable because he attacks before anyone can even take a vote. Yoh’s like, "No, I’m not gonna fight you after you laid out my friends,” and thank you Yoh for being you. Or Yoh, or you, I’m confused—moving on. Yoh is soon forced to fight, and defeats Lyserg. And he gives him a lesson, and Lyserg joins the team… getting exactly what he wanted? Okay! Super revenge scheme on its way! All kidding aside this was still a great episode, and I do like Lyserg although he’s at the bottom of my favorite on the team right now. But regardless this was still a good episode, and finally had something bigger, and finally got interesting, and not fight five random chicks interesting.
