Episode 42 Review (The Double Medium)

And since we’re on the topic of big family reveals, turns out that random guy with the mask that had been helping Ryu, yeah that’s Yoh’s dad. Kind of anticlimactic, but who really cares? I was also confused ‘cause I didn’t know if Yoh actually knew. But Yoh’s father reveals the past, when baby Zeke and Yoh were born. They were going to kill both babies, as one was the reincarnation of Zeke. But of course Zeke even as a baby had a little guardian spirit that saved him, and he’s still a genius. Wait, did that mean he was still conscious and shit when his mom was pregnant? Wait… so he could think fluently in there? EW! So yeah, after that the X Laws show up. They draw power from the strange leader chick who’s gather some sort of weapon to defeat Zeke. Her name is the Iron Maiden and she’s like the role model of crazy. The X Laws fairly quickly lose, and apparently Amidamaru evolves as a spirit to handle Yoh’s new strength. Yep, went from DBZ evolution, to spirit Transformers, and now we’re Pokemon. But Amidamaru can now turn his spirit into two weapons, and it’s basically like Spirit Form squared. So Yoh’s really strong now. It really feels like you’re growing up with him, and I don’t have any clue as how the X Laws are going to fade into the actual story. And Zeke gets better every day. There’s no villain quite like Zeke in my mind, and I feel when shit hit’s the fan, he’ll be really really hard to beat. It’ll get crazy.
