 Episode 2 (Guild) Review

So yeah, unique high school group who goes around stealing food slips also has a giant underground guild... cause why the fuck not? So like I said, in this episode the group goes underground to get weapons, and they realize Angel is down there with them, and will discover their weapons if they don’t stop her. But they also have traps for her, and because their lives are expendable, they have to go around them. And that means for some pretty funny if not throw away character sacrifices, and one that happened because he basically made Yuri mad. Then we get a almost squeezed in back-story from Yuri where we learn she was once the oldest of the three siblings, and some robbers killed her family in a actually very sad moment. But I like Angel Beats a lot for going from a sad to a funny to dramatic to bad ass scene. And that’s exactly what they did. Did it feel like too much was happening? For this episode, no, it was about right. And then our group made it to the Guild, and it looks like the best outcome is too evacuate the place, and move to an old abandoned guild. But they stall Angel while they blow it the fuck up, and that stalling involves a dope ass hand to hand fight, and our main character literally football tackling Angel. Oh, and a giant cannon that doesn’t work. And then it ends on high note about how awesome Yuri is, and yeah, that’s the main theme of the episode. How great of a leader Yuri was when she... got all of her people slaughtered and lost the entire Guild... I guess on other days she’s an awesome leader. Anyway, another amazing episode. I’m surprised at how much I’m enjoying rewatching this, compared to my first run. But it’s a really good show, so what can you do?
