Last Chance gets a 2/5

All right. Only two songs left. Song is called Last Chance. Let’s see if she can redeem herself…

And nope. But this isn‘t a bad song, and in the top five on the album for me… that’s not saying much. Positive, have to stay positive. All right, lyrics first. Nicki’s lyrics are finally good. Not spectacular, not even great, but a good spot just above passable. Not annoying, not too many stupid lines, no ABC lines that a five year old could have wrote. And I think Nicki is at her best when she’s being weird and fun. And sometimes like Super Bass it doesn’t work, but for this it does. Then this is more like a rollercoaster, and again it’s messy, but it’s a good messy. It’s sad at parts, happy and fun, and just different from the rest of the album. I don’t understand the sports theme they seemed to be referencing, or why they kept a gun thing going on too. As for the other chick’s lyrics, they’re good too. But we’ll get too her in a minute. I honestly think this should have got a video, not Your Love, and not Right Thru Me. This song is actually hearable, and although I can’t listen too it for more than once, it sounds different. Nicki is singing, and she doesn’t sound too bad, and Natasha is more there to help if anything. She’s a booster if anything. And there are almost like three hooks, it’s weird. But yeah, I know nothing at all about Natasha. For all I know world’s best singer, world’s worst, most well known and it went over my head, or just a nobody. But I like her enough for a featured guest singer on the song. I will say at one point it sounds like there is too much going on when she’s singing, but I think that’s from Nicki doing weird shit in the background, not her. But yeah, singing. I don’t think Nicki should be playing it safe, as look where it got her the rest of the album, but this one I feel it worked. Maybe more featured singers, it’s been better than recruiting Kanye to a song he doesn’t fit in, or Eminem to a decent song. And yeah, I like this one. Not nearly as good as Moment 4 Life, or even the guilty pleasure Check It Out. It’s just… passable. But although it could be more album filler, I felt although not cohesive, it sounded nice enough with a beat that wasn’t as boring as shit as the other ones, and it moved at a good pace. And yeah, it was an all right song, not that good, not that bad.
