Episode 4 Review (Charizard)

 Episode 4 (Charizard) Review

Ah, the feels! Anyway, the last episode of Origins, and it’s a big one. First, Ash conquers the Elite Four, until the ultimate slap of the face hits him, he must face the new Elite Four Champion, Blue. Yes, his own rival did the very task he dreamed of right before him. But they fight, and have after a hell of a battle, Red wins. He becomes Elite Four Champion, and is a Pokemon Master. He then searches for the rest of the one-hundred forty-nine Pokemon. Then Blue gets attacked when searching Cerulean Cave, where a monster Pokemon attacked him, injuring him. After looking through Red’s Pokedex, he realizes this must be a new form of Pokemon, the hundred and fiftieth. So that’s when Red remembers what he read in Cinabar Island, and that Mewtwo was a genetic clone of Mew, and that Mewtwo must be the Pokemon in the cave. Meanwhile Professor Oak after studying Red’s stones, realizes they have a connection, and tells him to give one to Charizard. So Red goes into the cave, sees Mewtwo chillin’ like a villain, and they fight. And it’s just glorious. Articuno going down, the others getting beat, and then Red loses with Charizard, getting knocket into the water. Once there something special happened that didn’t happen in the games. The gems light up, revealing Charizard, and this was the first time anyone got to see Charizard in this form, so yeah, kind of a big deal. Charizard kicks some Mewtwo ass, and then Red claims victory over the universe by catching Mewtwo. That’s when we have our final scene, and Red putting together Mew must be out there, and we see Mew creeping in the window outside. And he handles the realization that catching every Pokemon out there is a very fucking hard thing to do much better than most, and then roll credits. Overall, yeah, best episode by far. This really brought everything to a close, and wrapped a nice pretty ribbon around it. I couldn’t think of anyway to make it better. Seeing Mewtwo like that, and Mega Charizard, it was so cool. Ane the whole champion thing, it was a nice edition. Ultimately easily a five out of five, the best episode ever, and today was a good day. Getting to rewatch and review the entire series in one day has been awesome, and I’m very happy to have come back. I’ll maybe watch Pokemon Origins every couple of years or so just to relive the good moments. Let’s hear it for Red and Charizard for giving the classic story in a way we never got to see before.

Pokemon: Origins Episode 4 (Charizard) gets a 5/5
