My Top Ten Super Smash Bros. Melee Characters to Play As
1. Captain Falcon: YES! Captain Falcon is number one. Why you may ask. Why is Captain Falcon my favorite to play as? Is it that infamous Falcon Punch. No. (Well yes, that's actually a big part, but not the point) But he's fast, one of the fastest characters. And he's also really strong. Speed and power, that's pretty much the point to Smash Bros. And yes,
FALCON PUNCH!2. Link: Like is really who I think of when I think the best player. Just getting near him means getting shot at by a bow, that little cheap spin attack, and getting hit with a bomb. He's just really good, and he's who you get when you need the big guns. Legend of Link for the win.
3. Kirby: Kirby can transform into alternate versions that are like his opponents, so that makes the list already. But he slams down on his opponents by turning into a hundred pound weights, bitch slaps people with a hammer, and is just a cute ball of fluff.
4. Mewtwo: Not a lot of people like playing as Mewtwo, but I do. He's one of my favorite Pokemon, and one of my favorite in this game too. He just floats around and just moves like a total bad ass. (which he is) He can also just move things with his mind, and I love playing as him. He's not the best, but he's fun, and that's what really counts.
5. Roy: I never played Fire Emblem games yet, but I don't need to to love playing as Roy. He literally explodes if you get his big hit, and when that happens, it's almost as fulfilling as the Falcon Punch.
6. Zelda/Sheik: Sheik is incredibly fast, and is the only person I can win with by just smacking the other guy around. And Zelda is a whole different character, so you can change style at any moment.
7. Mario: The most standard player to me, and sometimes that works. He shoots fire, spins around, and who doesn't love those little one-liners he makes? The face of Nintendo definitely makes the list.
8. Pikachu: I'm a big Pokemon fan, so of course Pikachu has to be on here somewhere. And your getting up by a cute little chubby mouse, so anyone losing to him gets pissed pretty easily. Try getting electrocuted over and over again to a mouse with a party hat, and not get a little upset.
9. Marth: Usually whenever there is only one type of fighting style, I just pick one guy. And Roy is good, but sometimes he gets boring, and then you know who to choose when that happens.
10. Fox: I remember back in the day Fox was like the best guy to be. Over time that changed, but Jesus, he can really destroy when you get good with him. He just shoots around the area while hardly ever falling off, and he slips away so easily, which I guess makes sense since he's a fox. And as a fan of Star Fox 64, this guy hits nostalgia.
11. Ganandorf: My fav guy to play as is Captain Falcon, and Ganandorf fights similar to him. He doesn't have his speed, but he is more powerful. And when he gets enough hits, your done. No, your just done.
12. Yoshi: Yoshi isn't really good for much. He just sits down on people, turn into an egg and roll on people, and then he turns people into an egg and spits them out which doesn't do much. But you know what? That's all he needs! That sit down can do a lot! And I love that sound he makes when he jumps.
13. Donkey Kong: Your a monkey walking around the stage, picking up people only to walk off the ledge with them, punch people and launch them across the stage, and cause earthquakes by slapping the ground. Yeah, he's definitely worth playing as.
14. Mr. Game and Watch: Mr. Game and Watch is the last guy you get in Melee, and he is also the most bizarre and weird to play as. But like all the characters, you can get really good with him if you keep playing as him. And if you do, your the guy who is kicking ass by tossing around macaroni, and that's really all you need to be bad ass. Your a troll, but an awesome troll Game and Watch.
15. Samus: Samus I don't love to play as, but she is necessary for the cast. And anyone that can roll up into a ball and rain bombs down from above is good in my book.
