Episode 31 Review (Saiyan Sized Secret)

The majority of this episode is between Vegeta and Goku, and it turns into a hell of a fight. Goku is able to use the Kaioken to really hurt Vegeta, but the damage from the move is hurting his body almost as bad. But Goku knows it’s the only way to hurt Vegeta, so he’s pushing his body above his limits to try and beat Vegeta. But just as the battle really gets going Vegeta leaps into the air in disbelieve he’s losing and fires his first ever Galick Gun. Although Goku is still reeling he shoots a x3 Kaioken Kamehameha and is even with Vegeta’s Galck Gun. This energy fight is one of the most intense clashes in DBZ, and this is really where it feels like two titans going at it. But then Goku hits x4 and his blast conquers Vegeta’s and shoots him into the sky. It’s a miracle he’s not dead, but by now he’s practically useless so in a way maybe Vegeta won that battle when you think about it. That’s a reason why I love the Kaioken, it brings a level of story into the battle and shows how far Goku is willing to go. But then as the smoke clears Yajirobe emerges from the rubble to congratulate Goku and give him a pat on the back. But seeing as though the slightest touch has Goku screaming like a little girl, maybe he wasn’t helping, especially when he turns and runs the second he knows Vegeta is still alive. But Vegeta you see after the aftermath of the blast and you get to hear him scream in the frustration. He’s not like Nappa where he is just hotheaded, he is just frustrated beyond believe with how strong Goku is. Vegeta is an elite, and it’s like a big smack in the face to everything he knows to lose to Goku. But he looks for the moon planning to go Great Ape, even though he thinks that’s unbelievable because the Great Ape is meant for civilizations and planets. But as he can’t find the moon, he returns to the battlefield and tells Goku the Saiyans have a way to make their own Blutz Waves (a type of light given off of moonlight that is the source of transforming Saiyans to their Great Ape form) and Vegeta launches his artificial waves into the sky and begins his transformation. The episode ends just as Vegeta hits Great Ape form. In the end this episode is another elite, maybe they aren’t as initially entertaining like some of the other episodes before, but it really gets you going and plays off the other episodes so greatly.
