Episode 75 Review (Sasuke’s Decision: Pushed to the Edge!)

Lately I haven’t been doing as many Naruto reviews. That’s because I’m trying to find out where I want the anime reviews to go. To be honest I’m a little bored doing Naruto over and over, that’s why I started the Avatar: The Last Airbender reviews, and I will say once I’ve finished season two of Naruto, I will be taking a break from the series. I’ll be doing more shows as well as this one, maybe some more DBZ, Avatar, Shaman King (I’ve been watching that recently), and there are so many to choose from. But for now let’s keep going along in season two. Anyway this fight ends the fight with Sasuke and Gaara, luckily it doesn’t go on for that long. Sasuke goes all out to beat Gaara, hitting another Chidori. We get more flashbacks (yes numerous ones) one of Gaara as a kid and some children were running away from him because he’s… well Gaara. Than Sasuke remembers when Gaara was talking to him while training, and also that he can only hit two Chidori a day, otherwise he might die. But fuck it, it’s the ultimate battle of the emo Naruto characters, life doesn’t count here. Sasuke goes for it again, and his curse mark allows him to hit a Chidori, getting Gaara, but draining him of his strength. Then just before Gaara kills Sasuke, Naruto burst out, kicks him across the face saving Sasuke, and our episode ends. I’m feeling like Naruto’s getting a little stale for me recently, but I can’t deny this is just simply a good episode. It wasn’t really slow, and although no this obviously doesn’t have to take up a whole episode slot, for long anime, making a whole episode out of this fight isn’t a bad thing. And Gaara is just screaming and yelling, and your genially freaked out by him. Sasuke emo character? Yeah, but Gaara takes emo to bad ass. He’s growing giant arms and tails, and it’s a living monster your seeing. In the end this is another good episode, and certainly kept the pace up.
