Episode 135 Review (The Promise That Could Not Be Kept)

So yes, we are brought back to reality. We’re thrown back into the leaf village, and everyone is in the hospital. First Shikamaru is basically fine, aside from having to have a big talk with his dad and Temari, which gives him more reason for me to like me. I’m glad Shikamaru gets the spotlight, he deserves it. And meanwhile Kiba is just in typical hospital form talking to his sister about long walks or some shit, Choji is on a weird table get some weird surgery, and Neji is having some kind of demonic exorcism style of hospitalization. But yeah, everyone lives, and are going to eventually be fine, including Naruto… and yeah. To be honest, I think Choji’s character would have been better of if he died, as it would have had more impact. And yeah, that moment seems less cool now if he’s just going to walk it off. And if his character goes downhill, I’m going to be pissed… and why does he look skinny! And meanwhile Ino and Sakura prove the only thing women do in this show is visit people in the hospital after they come back from an epic battle that they were too lazy to be apart of… except Temari who is a bad ass. And then yeah, Sakura and Naruto have a good talk, and apparently that big fail is actually just a promise but on hold. And then Jiraiya shows up, and I guess he is going to take Naruto somewhere to train him. And he tells him Sasuke’s body will be taken in three years, and Naruto for some reason has a three year deadline to become a super duper ninja or else the Akatsuki is going to kill him… oddly specific. But ultimately this was a great episode, and I’m excited to see where things go… and I know there is a lot of filler coming up soon, I just hope it doesn’t suck… especially after things were getting really good again.
