Episode 33 (Battle Formation: Ino-Shika-Cho!)

…Ino-Shika-Cho? I’ve given shit for these episode names before but… really? It has an exclamation point, a stupid combination of the characters name, and is too long. Why? Why would somebody think this was a cool name? Anyway, team Ino takes a shot at the sound ninja, and at first they throw some cool abilities and seem to get the edge. But it doesn’t work soon as they don’t really care about their teammates safety after Ino takes her body, and Shikamaru’s ability doesn’t work very long. But just when hope is lost (for around the third time) Neji and Tenten pop up ready to attack. But before he could he says it’s been taken from his hands. Then we see as this purple chakra is forming around Sasuke. We’d seen this happening in the last episode as well. Sasuke gets a glimpse of a flashback where he was young and his parents died because he couldn’t save them, then we see as Orochimaru tells him he couldn’t do anything about it because he was weak, and needs more power. Sasuke’s body rises with more purple Chakra around him, and for the first time he has the Curse Mark. And now Sasuke is crazy evil. After giving a very dark speech and avoiding a giant attack by one of the sound guys, he then slams his foot on his back, pulls his arm back, then snap. Still evil and freaky he approaches the other dude, but Sakura then stops him with a hug… just when things got awesome! But you can see pretty much in the future that the Curse Mark will be Sasuke’s evil side, and Sakura friend or more will represent him holding onto his good side. But just saying for the moment arm breaking this is probably not appropriate for little kids Sasuke is bad ass! Anyway sound man grabs his pretty much dead partners and runs along leaving the scroll for a chance to escape. Than team Ino comes and tries to check on everyone (Shikamaru insults Naruto, which stings because nobody but squad seven ever seems to know how cool Naruto actually is) Then our episode ends! Anyway, this is another great episode, but something about it again makes me want to push it even more, and it’s another low nine for me. It’s really great, and episodes like this make me just reflect on why I love Naruto. Now Sasuke is getting pushed, and other side characters are now important and interesting. We now have a cast, and this is a point where you really start to love the show. The Land of Waves was one thing, but a whole cast is just dope. This is another great episode, and really is cool ending the mini conflict I mentioned in one of the last episodes (I was wrong, still two more left) But Naruto has been knocked for a couple episodes, but I’d like to point how that has to happen. He’s had enough progression for awhile, now we’ve had time to put the spotlight on some others, I’m ready for him to come back, but I’m happy others are relevant.
