Episode 5 Review (Gohan's Rage) Episode 5 Review (Gohan's Rage)
Okay, so a lot happens in this one episode. First, the fight between Raditz, Goku, and Piccolo leaves right where it left off, and Gohan fucks up Raditz. (The true debut of Gohan’s power might I add) A little progresses and Gohan’s attack turns to badly affect Raditz, and even allow Goku to hold Raditz for Piccolo’s attack. But the catch is Goku has to die with Radtiz. It’s not often in a show the main character has to die in the first five episodes, but I guess it was hard to suspect if you had followed Dragonball. Also it does show how willingly Goku will die for the higher cause. But yes, Goku dies, and it leaves a big question mark on the future of the show. I don’t know if Dragonball told much about other world, but if they didn’t I could only imagine what Toriyama had been planning. But Goku was not the only death, as also Raditz died. My first DBZ character review will probably be Raditz, and I’m wondering how many character reviews I can manage for DBZ. But this was by far the best show so far for both Goku, Piccolo, Gohan, the best for Raditz period. Raditz had a good farewell, and I’m glad that the Special Beam Cannon, had it’s debut and also Vegeta took his first appearance. Of course he was looked at equally with Nappa, but this was the intro to my possibly favorite character. (I’ll probably be able to decide when the reviews are over with) Vegeta looked different in his first two appearances, and the first trait to his character immediately was harsh and savage. (He immediately scoffed at the deceased Raditz for being weak, and was sitting on a corpse he looked like he was eating a part of) This episode seemed to have a lot, and was extreme on story. I think a little more character development would have made it hit ten, but this was still a very nice episode, and had a lot of great DBZ moments.
