Ah, twenty-one, my favorite number. The twenty-first episode starts off with a bang as Goku creates the first ever on screen Spirit Bomb. It is microscopic to the power he gathers later in the series, but it’s still a very important moment. After this he tells Earth tells Roshi in the middle of taking a dump to wish him back with the Dragonballs. They do so, and you see Shenron in his first, and probably most anticlimactic showing in DBZ. After that Goku starts on his journey back down Snake Way. I’m still confused on exactly how the life or death thing works when wished back on exactly where you wind up, cause it seems to change periodically with DBZ. But for now I couldn’t care, and it did fall along with the story and add suspense, and ultimately that’s more important. But then the most important moment arrives, THE SAIYANS ARRIVE! Although they already had their debut on Arlia, I think Vegeta and Nappa really have two introductions to their characters, this being one of them. You see Vegeta in normal color, and they are on Earth, and this gets real. Although these are all really important things, it just doesn’t feel like it’s the main event yet, but just the stage setter for what’s to come, which is why it isn’t really anything above a seven out of ten, and to be honest I don’t feel like I could watch this one again many times. But it’s still a good episode, has big moments, and moves the important story-line along very nicely.  Episode 21 (Counting Down) gets a 3/5 DBZ: Episode 21 gets THE CHARACTER BADGE
