Episode 32 Review (A Very Trey Day)

Episode 32 Review (A Very Trey Day)

Yes, it’s sad but true, we are half way through Shaman King. And this episode is another great one, to me at least. It resolves around Trey, and I feel an episode for him would be helpful in this little do nothing period. As the gang is waiting to be picked up, he goes ahead in a forest for food. In the forest, Trey meets Allen, or Aren, I’m not really sure. And he’s a nature freak, and is trying to stop the people who are destroying his forest. So, since we think Trey is all for sticking it to the man when it comes to nature, we’d think he’d go along, but he doesn’t. Allen, or Aren, thinks beating down the people is the right cause, as it gets the job done. But Trey being the good guy, says no. And eventually there is a fire, and he lets the fire spreads out so he finally take it out. And in the end, the ends justify what happened before. It actually has a good message, and I like Trey is getting a little spotlight. Until now, I haven’t really found Trey more than anyone but a fill in the blank character that only helps the others contrast, and adventures usually helps with the more the merrier. And I like that Trey is getting the spotlight, because it helps unveil characters, like Trey. If Yoh wasn’t getting it, then he’d probably just appear this kick back guy, but he’s far from it. And that’s not all. It also really helps Anna. Anna is talking with Yoh’s grandfather, and apparently she has like a thousand beads, and since she only needs one little necklace to call forth the dead, she’s probably planning something really big. So, Yoh’s grandfather knows about this really random area where she can apparently test herself. (Wouldn’t be the first time) He says Anna before using the beads needs to be free of all clouded stress, worries, and thoughts. And he says her worry for Yoh stops her process. And Morty just dipped his finger in there, and it started turning to ice, which I guess means your failing and it showed he’s very clouded with worry. But Anna just walks right in, and she sits under a waterfall of this water. And I think moments like this is what I like about Anna. Sure she’s a bitch, but how many female protagonists are like her? She wasn’t afraid to walk in, she is actually worried for Yoh and cares for him, but still went in anyway, simply because of her determination. And she’s really tough and hard to crack, but somewhere deep down… okay I’m stretch, but deep down… very fucking deep down… there might be a little more? And I think that’s one of the reason Anna is probably in my top five.
