Holy shit, this is a reality. Okay, Sly Cooper, a series that really tangled itself in my childhood, is getting a movie. I had no idea about this project until just a couple minutes ago, but apparently it’s happening. And good God, this trailer looks awesome. Grips out of the way, the art style is really different, and Sly’s voice actor is different. But I feel like twenty minutes of this thing I’ll have totally forgotten all that shit. I just want to stay positive, because I feel like a kid in a candy store right now. With most video game adaptations to movies, it just doesn’t work. It’s either a weird action movie, or just a weird movie. But with Sly Cooper you could see them making a cool kind of Pixar type of movie, but that’s one of those things that just doesn’t happen. Oh, but apparently not. First off, I want to talk about the character designs. Yeah, they’re different. Fucking Murray almost scared the shit out of me when I saw him, he looks way off. Bently isn’t a squinty eyes little dude anymore, he looks like a ninja turtle. To be honest, I thought they could be better, but I think for the movie they’re going for, it could work. However Sly… he looks like a bad ass. He looks… like Sly Cooper, but a really adult bad ass version of him that’s more realistic, and less cartoon-ish. But the most important thing is how this commercial was presented to us. It catered to the fans. They were driving the gang car, which was bad ass, and they had a little doughnut thing that was funny. Yeah, that’s Sly Cooper for you. And the reason projects don’t work is they lack shit like this. But this feels like it’s going to be Sly Cooper. And good God, I don’t want to get my hopes up but… fuck it, I already did. Batman and Superman, Sly Cooper, I got some 2016 movies on my list.
