Episode 24 Review (The Power Of Nappa)

Episode 24 Review (The Power of Nappa)

Let’s give it up for Krillen in one his rare bad ass moments! After seeing the death of Yamcha Krillen uses a new move that takes out three saibamen, when the fourth scurries away he moves to blast to hit Vegeta and Nappa (you can guess they didn’t die like the saibamen) Then the fourth saibamen jumps out to attack Gohan (They must really like going after him) but Piccolo stops him. The look Piccolo gives before he kills that thing proves why Piccolo’s a bad ass. But as the dust clear and the Saiyans emerge the real fight begins. Nappa just charges up his energy, and that was the first real charge up that was really intimidating. He even had his own weird lightning around him for a little while as he charged Tien. And then he just punches Tien’s arm off! First he breaks some of Piccolo’s ribs, but PUNCHING HIS ARM OFF? Only in DBZ are you going to see people getting their arms punched off. Then Krillen tries to run to Tien, but Nappa leaves a giant ass hole in the ground you can’t even see the bottom to. After waiting so long to see the Saiyan’s powers it really shows that we had no idea. But then something very sad happened. Chiaotzu, gave his life to kill Nappa. While the dust settled from the giant hole, Chiaotzu landed on Nappa’s giant back, and then blew himself up. Now this moment is very touching, and it really did help Chiaotzu’s character. While it was going down Nappa is just smashing his back into cliffs, Tien is just crying out for Chiaotzu not to do it, and as Gohan turns away Piccolo’s just like, "Honor his bravery!” and makes Gohan watch. I know Chiaotzu isn’t a big role in DBZ, but this makes him a worthy Z-warrior in my mind. But then, as tragic as it is, Nappa is there as the dust settles and hardly has a scratch. It really feels helpless right about now as the episode ends. If this was the final episode of DBZ, then we would assume everybody died, and the Saiyans gained immortality. Nappa is a hard ass, and he will not rest with Raditz as the guy who was weak in memory, simply because he did stuff like this. He mocks them as they die, he at this point seemingly unstoppable. Things are real at this point, and I can’t really watch all these episodes again and again, but at this point no filler, things are almost all great from here to the end of the Saiyan Saga, but you’ll have to check out my future reviews to see.
Episode 24 (The Power of Nappa) gets a 9/10
