Trampoline Gets a 2/5

Since I went through and pretty much reviewed all my favorite songs from this album, it’s time to go back and start reviewing them in the more correct order, like I’m doing with the other songs on albums I’m reviewing. Now I remember when Hopsin was pretty much all I had access to, and this album was pretty much all I had. I remember jumping from Hot 16s, Sag My Pants, You Are My Enemy, but then it came to Trampoline. This usually was the first song I would skip when going on a best of of the album. It’s not a bad song, it just doesn’t really have a lot going for it. It’s a simple song, just a beat, simple lyrics, and a theme around a trampoline. It’s one of those songs where you just touch on a bunch of little subjects, but I prefer the songs that aren’t all over the place, and stick more to a single path. That being said this is probably the best song you could jump on a trampoline to, so there’s that. Anyway even songs like Blood Energy Potion or ones like that, I really think they really aren’t a need on the album, but do help being on it. This one I feel it could go either way, and really isn’t necessary. It could have just been a uploaded video on Hopsin’s Youtube, and that could have been it. That being said I do like it, it doesn’t do anything wrong, just not a song that will really stick with you. If there is a problem it’s the Lil Wayne reference, which I could do without. It almost seems like Hopsin at this point in time had to include a tiny diss every other track, and although they don’t really differ from the song, it doesn’t help when people say he’s just a dude dissing on people. Anyway, it’s one of those songs that are just kind of random raps, and the lyrics almost seem like a freestyle. But Hopsin doesn’t freestyle, so I don’t even want to bring up the words freestyle. As far  as sound goes, this kind of seems like one of the worst songs. It can be annoying and repetitive after one listen for me, and it doesn’t stick at all. Anyway, not a bad song, it just had nothing really to show for it. Hopsin does reference parts of his life, and it kind of jumps around, and it does fall under a decent theme of a trampoline, but that’s not really enough for me to call it a good song.
