Our next episode begins a bit darker. We see Gaara standing atop some building. Then the sound man reveals himself saying he’ll take out Gaara so he’ll be able to fight the one he really wants to. Message to come across? Don’t fuck with Gaara. The moment he walked up to him it was like the moment when the idiot teenager goes in the basement in a horror movie. You just wanted to scream, "Get out of there!” But no, sound man get’s destroyed. After that we see Kabuto and Gaara’s trainer having a secret meaning, and turns out the sand village is going to help take out the leaf village. But their discussion is overheard by the third exam proctor who Gaara’s trainer takes on, and seemingly wins. But after that the rest of the episode is Jiraiya and Naruto. And I like how Jiraiya just dicks around with Naruto. While he’s explaining things he’s pinching his cheeks and poking him on the head. I like that he just couldn’t care less. And after that Naruto has to deplete himself of his usual chakra, that way he can use the Nine-Tailed Fox’s. So Naruto calls forth a BATTLE ROYALE and uses a bunch of Shadow Clones to fight himself until he’s out of Chakra. After that Jiraiya whips out a scroll from his toad, and says Naruto must sign his name in blood and he like all others who’ve signed the scroll will be able to summon the summoning toads. Of course Naruto does this, and he brings forth… a tadpole. Yep, then after that our episode ends as some leaf ninja see the third exam proctor’s corpse as he’s covered in blood. In the end I really did like this episode, and I really like Jiraiya and Naruto’s little counters at each other. Kakashi is more like Naruto’s instructor just as he is Sasuke and Sakura’s, but I like a more direct teacher in Jiraiya. This is a really low eight for me, and I hope the next few episodes with Naruto and Jiraiya are just as good.  Naruto Episode 54 (Summoning Jutsu: Wisdom of the Toad Sage!) gets a 8/10
