You know when you roll a snowball down a hill and it eventually becomes a giant ass ball of destruction? Yeah, Light’s lies in this are a little like this, and the ball is coming right for him. And what does he do? Dodges the fuck out of it. Raye Penber’s fiancé is the central part of this episode. And she is trying to get to the task force, and L, who she met in America in the past. But of course Light just so happens to be there, and the two go on a nice little stroll. Light learns she has info that will basically screw him in the ass. So he must kill her. And after writing her name in the Death Note, he knows that she is using an alias. And so he has a conversation of wits, trying to ask for her real name, despite asking that would be suspicious on ever level. And doing this he is just on the verge of failing, as he gets closer and closer to messing up, and his lies feel like they’re about to catch up with them and then…. She gives him her driver’s license. Yep, then he writes her name, and she dies at the end of the episode, although it doesn’t show it. And right before it happened, he revealed to her he’s Kira. And that look of "oh fuck,” on her face is just so bone chilling. This is one crazy ass dude on the loose. And while this was going on, the one guy with the afro from the group (I forget his name) and he walks by this. Yeah, and it snowed so he had to get an umbrella (cause that’s what everyone does when it snows) and he wasn’t able to see Light. He got away with it… and that’s it. But it was a chase, even when she didn’t even know she was in it. And you could almost hear Light yelling "TELL ME YOUR NAME!” In the end it was just really intense, and it was a conversation, these could have been two people you walked by on the street, and they just held an episode together, a great one at that.
