WE’VE DONE IT! We are at fifty episodes! And what better episode than the big invasion itself. The team comes together, and when I say the team, I mean everybody. From Haru to the Boulder, they come. And the Boulder says the word negatory, and that’s really all I need to love this episode. After that, Sokka gives a speech, (or at least tries to) and his dad takes over. The team goes near fire nation territory, and they have to use submarines to go underwater and avoid fire nation attacks. Then they resurface for their one and only break of air. Once there, Aang and Katara have their big kiss moment. And no, it wasn’t too sappy, didn’t beat you over the heat with it, and it was quick. Thank you Avatar. Then after that it is bad ass until the end. And yeah, it’s mostly just fighting. You could argue with that it’s all the episode has at that point. But good God, it is really cool fighting. Seeing old characters fighting is fun, and they’re all doing good. Just seeing Appa in armor is enough to think its awesome. And I remember this getting pumped up, seeing something as a kid I didn’t know if I’d ever get. But of course something goes wrong, and the fire lord is not in the palace, and he’s probably bailed. Sorry, that is probably the biggest fuck you movie the fire nation could do.
"Oh, what was that? Big solar eclipse coming that you’ll get eight minutes to do whatever you want? Excuse me, I’ll not show up for the one hope you have at winning. (Evil laugh)”
That’s basically what I got. So in this episode we realized filler is nonexistent in Avatar, the big kiss, and a lot of bad ass fighting. Yep definitely a great episode in my eyes.
