As we draw to the end of the Waves Arc things are heading up. On the end of episode sixteen it looked like the bad guys won, the opposite could be said for episode seventeen. Now at the beginning of eighteen the kid Inari is running around trying to gather his village to fight, but in a land without any fighters or even hope, that’s kind of hard. But meanwhile Kakashi is about to deliver his Lightning Blade attack and finish Zabuza, and Naruto knows he has to kill Haku. But as Kakashi approaches, the fog lifts, and Haku stops Naruto saying there’s a change of plan. Kakashi closes in, but it seems Haku puts himself in front of him and saves Zabuza, but only at the cost of his own life. But the episode carries on, and Zabuza doesn’t seem at all fazed by Haku’s death. He tried to keep attacking, but Kakashi easily maintains the upper hand, and even takes out his other arm making it impossible for Zabuza to use jutsu. But just then Gato reveals himself from the mist with dozens of hired goons behind him. (Somehow a large group of men can be sneaky against Jonin ninja) Our episode ends, and I have to say it’s another really great one. I don’t think it’s as good as the last one because last time I felt like things were really bad ass, and this one was more gripping with Haku’s death. Still a really great episode, and really heats up the fight between Kakashi and Zabuza. We still think Sasuke is dead, Sakura even cries over his body. It’s really dramatic and gives a much more epic ending to an arc than you were probably expecting near the beginning of it. It also gives a huge respect of just what being a ninja in this world means, and it no longer is a kid game. R.I.P. Haku!
