Episode 18 Review (The Tunnel of Tartarus)

Episode 18 Review (The Tunnel of Tartarus)

We start off episode eighteen with me laughing my ass off. Rio, he might just be my favorite character now. Anyway, Yoh is still in the cave, and Rio and Morty are closing in on his location. But Tamao, a Shaman apprentice that lives with Yoh’s grandfather had a vision of a short and long assassin come to kill Yoh, and thinks it’s Morty and Rio, and sends her two spirit animals at them, but they’re quickly defeated. Anna comes around and stops the confusion. But soon Yoh is going to come out of the cave, but before he gets out the two actual assassins who were in the last episode show up, and with Yoh having new strength, he easily defeats them. And when Yoh gets out it’s very touching, him and Morty have a moment as they become friends again, Anna and him have a moment, it all makes sense. It’s a calmer, more care free episode that actually made me laugh a couple times. It was just nice to have a simple episode, but still move the story, and also good character progression. At this point Anna is going good again, every moment she had where she’s bitchy, she usually has moments that show more soon afterwards. She cares, and I don’t think Yoh would be half as far as he is without her. Ultimately, it’s another great episode.
