Episode 19 Review (The Demon In The Snow)

Episode 19 Review (The Demon In The Snow)

YES! ONE MORE TO GO! I’ll probably be taking a break from Naruto after this episode, but don’t worry I’ll try to make more soon.  Anyway Gato is basically an ass, and right before Zabuza dies fires him. He’s like Donald Trump but fires a guy who just got his arms blown off in a war. So the episode begins in a very sad way after Gato kicks Haku’s corpse. Naruto’s crying he’s saying sad stuff about Haku as a montage goes on, then Zabuza even breaks a tear saying Haku taught him pain and sorrow. He held back his tears like the best of them! After unmasking himself Naruto gives him a kunai that he catches with his mouth, then he launches himself forward at the army of goons.
"One against all of us what’s he thinking!” Man says smugly then dies seconds later.
Zabuza gets his best moment ever while getting stabbed continually in the back making a path to Gato and stabs him. He gets stabbed like ten more times but still stands. He basically says he won’t see Haku after he dies cause he’s going to hell, and he’s taking Gato with him. He then in a bad ass demon show kills Gato. I always like it when business antagonists act like they can actually fight but then get their ass kicked, or in this case die. Zabuza falls with his last sight of Haku, wishing he only thanked him. It’s a very touching moment and probably the best way a simple killer rouge ninja could have gone out, and gave a huge side to his personality we never saw. This greatly helped Zabuza’s and Haku’s relationship, and greatly helped Zabuza’s character. But then to help the sad but somehow happy train along, Sasuke wakes up. We see that Haku all along his heart was breaking during the battle, and he was to soft to actually kill Sasuke. He knew he was to soft, and that’s why he accepted death. But then it just keeps going as the bad guys declare they’re going to take down the village to not leave empty handed, but we see that Inari is standing tall with his whole village behind them as they learn to not live in hiding anymore. Naruto and Kakashi even use Shadow Clones to make their army seem gigantic. The goons run for the boat and are falling over each other running away. Kakashi steps toward Zabuza and sees he’s still alive. He asks Kakashi to take him over to Haku, and as he does it starts snowing. (Now the name of episode makes sense)  In probably the most sad scene I’ve seen in anime ever Zabuza says farewell to Haku as he dies, and Kakashi speculates maybe he’ll join him there. Yep, Zabuza was a person after all. May have killed hundreds of children when he was just a kid, but he made for a very sad moment. Then we see as the gang sits beside a grave/memorial to Haku and Zabuza and talk about if being a tool as a Shinobi is really the right thing. Naruto decides he’ll find his own ninja way, and will follow in his own path. Then we see as the gang is ready to leave the finished bridge and head back onto the leave village. Inari and Naruto have actually real funny yet touching moment where they’re trying not to cry, but saying it’s all right to, and waiting for the other to cry. Naruto turns and Sakura says boys can be so pathetic. As Naruto and the rest walk into the sunset the Bridge Builder reflects on a name, and knows Naruto gave Inari courage, and Inari gave the village courage, and courage was a huge theme of this arc so it’s only right it’s called the "Great Naruto Bridge.” It’s cheesy, but when you think about it when Naruto becomes Hokage he’ll have a shitload of things named after him, that’s if he becomes Hokage that is. In the end. In the end this episode is nothing short of being beautiful, and is even better than episode one which I gave a ten out of ten. It greatly helped every character, was far from being called slow, and ended on epic proportions. Maybe those slow episodes before were so they could fit everything awesome into this one. Anyway this gets a solid ten out ten, and is gladly thrown in the hall of fame. I lost count of the number of times characters broke out in tears, but you got to admit you wanted to cry to! Anyway phenomenal episode, and a great closing to a really epic arc.
