You have to give high props whenever a game is very creative. Mirror’s Edge is first person platformer, and can easily be called a "parkour” game. I wanted to play this game for a long time, and I guess it did somewhere land around my expectations. Mirror’s Edge is about a runner named Faith, who is the only character who I really liked. Unfortunately I found the story a little mediocre and forgettable, the voice acting and characters did their job and won’t have you skipping cut scenes, especially since you’ll really want to follow the story. But the game isn't about that, it’s about it’s game play. I've played through the game twice now, once with guns, once without. I recommend not using gunss, cause it feels much more like the game was made for that, and you get a nice achievement. But warning, if you were like me, and aren’t that good at gaming, you won’t land these jumps worth shit! Then after you finally get through the jumps, and the guys are kicking your ass, you’ll be begging to take a couple shots at them. But even though at the time I blamed the game for my failures of skill, every fall was my fault, and I only realized that once I played the speed trials and was flying by the platform sections that took me an hour in like five minutes. The speed trials are awesome, and give the game a necessary flavor that wouldn’t be complete without it. On the bad side, there are elevator scenes that feel like hell. The game’s length ranks on the short side, (given you have to play the levels several times each to really play it) so maybe not that short, and when you look back on it… you only remember the running really fast, and the intense jumps. It’s a good game, and gives a great game-play, a good female main character, and a unique feel in your library, because no game is really like it. It’s not groundbreaking shit, but it’s a wonderful game, and even earns a nice place in a game library, or a platformer’s collection. The game is great, I didn’t find it the time of my life, but I want games like this in the future. If Mirror’s Edge 2 actually does come out, I would definitely give it a try!
Mirror’s Edge gets 4/5

Spoiler Parts: This is the part where I break down certain parts, and you should never listen to this without playing the game. First off, great ending. You are satisfied, and after the onslaught of platfomer goodness and getting that kill, I fucking loved the end. Kate I didn’t really care for, but I love when characters I find all right get closure, which makes me like them more. Also did you notice that throughout the game Faith’s jumps were always on the verge of bullshit, but never had you call bullshit. I think that one jump where the bald dude was like "Damn, kiddo!” I think I called bullshit, but I called bullshit with a smile, and so it’s all right. One near death jump she can walk off i guess. But remember when Sarah betrays you, when that happened I thought it was cool, but I didn’t really care. Like, it had a good execution, but I was kind of just like "oh yeah, that one girl from the tutorial is a back stabber, that’s cool.” But the story did do it’s job, and I think it took until the they played that cool theme song at the end to realize that.
