Episode 6 Review (No time like the present)

Episode 6 Review (No Time Like The Present)

With both Raditz and Goku now dead and two evil Saiyans on their way to Earth in one year’s time, the characters are beginning their training. In this episode you see what otherworld is, and meet King Yemma is while doing so. You learn about Snake Way, a DBZ set piece I always liked. But not only do you get to start Goku’s adventure down Snake Way, and meet King Yemma, and his funny sounding worker, things back down on Earth get more interesting to. First Piccolo reveals a little power of his that was probably shocked a lot of people who didn’t know he could grow his arms back. But this is also the start of Gohan’s training, and his future relationship with Piccolo. I think usually character relationships that are a student and teacher are really good, and this episode is when Piccolo and Gohan really meet, so what does Piccolo do? Throws him at god damn mountain! First Gohan gets beat up by his uncle, then his dad dies, and now green people are chucking him like a rag doll! He’s not having a very good time, but at least you see his inner strength come out last second to destroy the mountain, which is another really good DBZ moment. This episode I actually like more than any of the ones with Raditz, and I think one of the best episodes in season one, and it’s a low nine, but I think it deserves it.

Episode 6 (No Time Like the Present) gets a 5/5
