Episode 2 Review (Welcome to the Creator!)
Episode 2 (Welcome to the Creator!) Review
I think this is when the show
really started to get good to me, and not just weird. Whereas in the last
episode where Sato was kind of just losing himself in his thoughts, he goes out
in this one. He responds to Misaki the next day. He wasn’t at first but he
assumes she’ll get raped, the press will hear how he didn’t show, and attempt
to break into his home… that’s awesome thought process. But I love Sato and
Misaki, they have a strange romance formed from this nothingness. Where it’s
mystery, and always focused on Sato. And later in the series, it opens the
envelope, but you want things to come back to normal, and when the nothingness
comes back, it’s fond. In fact, I can’t think of an anime/manga relationship I
like more. I’m glad the show isn’t just one dude sitting in a room, lost in
thoughts the entire time. I actually like when there are new characters. And
speaking of which, Sato got drunk, and finally confronted the person playing
the song next door. And he finds his old high school buddy, Yamazaki. And he
finds his friend in tears, listening to that song that… can’t be described,
surrounded by women… and by that I mean toys, posters, and lots of Otaku items.
And the two have a nice conversation, and get drunk together. And despite not
seeing each other in awhile, they kind of seem to be putting on an old glove,
and talking like they saw each other yesterday. We learn that Yamazaki met Sato
because he tried helping him when he was getting bullied, and he’s a game
designer. Sato, who was trying to convince Misaki that he’s a "creator” of
something, uses this to tell her he’s a game designer. (Misaki looks so
unconvinced it’s funny) But Yamazaki hears, and they argue a little. Yamazaki
almost uses this to rant about there isn’t any games he can make, they all take
staff and money. Aside from one genre that will make them rich as fuck, and
cost very little. Hentai games. Let’s let the weirdness begin. Oh, who am I
kidding, this was weird from day one. But yeah, I loved this episode. I
actually got me thinking of what I liked about in the series, why I liked
certain things. The relationship between Sato and Misaki progressed to the
stage I like, Yamasaki, although a little over the top character I really like,
and then there’s Sato, who is just awesome by being him. Just how he thinks not
showing up to the park who get somebody raped, and have people barging on his
door shows how panicky he is, and the last thing he wants is for people to find
out who he is. He hates what he is, but the more he tries to escape it, the
more of it he becomes. Anyway, I should finish the episode, just say it was
great, I really did enjoy the hell out of it.
