Episode 21 Review (Identify Yourself: Powerful New Rivals)

Twenty one is my favorite number, so I always hope the twenty-first episode of any T.V. or anime is dope, so let’s find out if the twenty-first episode of Naruto will be good. So basically it picks up where episode twenty left off with Gaara (the red head guy who seems to not have a soul. Strange coincidence) He calls of Kankuro and they basically tells how Naruto they’re here for the Chunin exam, and then take off after a classic look off between Sasuke and Gaara. They both state their names, and Naruto asks him if he wants him to know his name, in which Gaara replies he couldn’t care less. Then we see as the Jonin are asked which Genin they’d like to recommend. Surprisingly all the rookie Genin join, including Naruto and his squad. And the scene ends as the Third Hokage states he’s made a preliminary test. So basically Naruto and the others are tested. Naruto has to save a kidnapped friend of Konohamaru’s, Sakura had to see through some dude’s illusion, and Sasuke had to, I don’t know ghetto stomp some guy--not important. It was obviously Iruka doing those things, and he’s surprised at how well they’re doing. Then we are introduced to three more characters (Yep, even more!) who we don’t know anything about yet. But we see them in a minute as they try to get into the Chunin exam. First we meet Rock Lee, who seems as fast as Sasuke, and has a funny moment with Sakura as he tries to ask her out. And our episode ends as Sasuke reflects on the competition. In the end this episode was just above average again for me. It was kind of cool with the little tests and all, but it really isn’t that great. Not a bad episode by any means, but usually stage setting episodes like this don’t have a lot going in. But we met Rock Lee and Neji, so that’s something pretty coo! Anyway all right episode, but could have been better.
