Episode 73 Review (Forbidden Secret Technique: Reaper Death Seal!)

Seventy-three continues the suspense and fighting of the last episode. The Third Hokage uses his new jutsu, and it’s revealed to be the same jutsu that sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox. His clones grab the first and second Hokage, and seem to take their souls away from them. Their real bodies are revealed, and they are the two sound ninja from before, and they are likely dead. The Third Hokage grabs Orochimaru, who just happens to lodge his blade into his back just as he grabs him. So now it seems either of them could win, it just who dies first is what is important. Meanwhile Sasuke catches up with Kankuro, and Temari is right behind him. Temari leaves with Gaara while Kankuro stays behind. But now Shino suddenly appears, and it looks like he’ll take on Kankuro while Sasuke goes on ahead. In the end this episode keeps up the pace (even though there was one quick flashback) and it seems like things are heating up for the better. Who’ll win is uncertain, and just how it’ll go is a mystery. I also liked the part where Jiraiya takes out the giant snakes. Anyway, a great episode as season two is close to nearing its end.
