Anime: The Big Three "Creative Topic" #5

"Creative Topic" #5 Anime: The Big Three

I’d like to make a point out that at the time of this writing, I am a novice anime watcher. If you go to my anime reviews all I have up are Dragonball Z and Naruto reviews. And as far as my anime watching goes, that’s about it except maybe the Last Airbender which a good number of people wouldn‘t even count. So this might be one topic down the road where I make a creative topic 5.1 with a further opinion. But I watch anime every Wednesday and try to get as many reviews as I can. Like my television reviews which I have a high count of one review for, I simply watch the episode, then give my opinion. Sometimes I pause the video so I don’t forget a point, sometimes I do some other stuff. And as far as how I started watching anime, I think anyone who read my reviews knows by now, DBZ was the source. And that brings me to my point about the three anime shows being called the big three. These shows are Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. A lot of people start watching anime from these shows, some only watch these shows, and some people claim they’re killing the anime industry. For me I wouldn’t be here for DBZ, but Naruto did help a lot. As far as Naruto goes, if you see my reviews, I gave season one a nine, and that’s pretty damn good. Some anime fans would say I’m not a true anime fan for that, and that I should probably burn in hell. (There’s a lot of hate for the big three if you can’t tell) But I think that’s just as ignorant as saying that Naruto is the best anime out there. Yes, it’s in my top three, but only because it’s all I’ve watched. I’m fully aware that there are probably ten times better anime shonen or not, and they accomplish what they need in a much smaller amount of time. Shows like Naruto carry on for hundreds of episodes, have filler, and have a very possibly annoying or overly loyal fan base. I love Naruto, but that’s only because my inexperienced eyes hasn’t really seen the probably better anime out there. As far as the three shows go, I’ve talked about Naruto, Bleach I haven’t seen at all, and One Piece I saw a tiny bit and played a video game. These three shows have giant amount of fans, and I think that’s what upsets some anime fans. They’re great shows are hardly getting any attention while Naruto which is probably average in their eyes is getting tossed around like candy. But these are simply novice anime fans like me showing fanboy  or fangirl attacks. If somebody says "Oh, Bleach is pretty good,” you shouldn’t freak out and start an internet war. I’m completely out of the fan loop, and just review what I see. As far as what I’ve seen Naruto has great moments, and although to damn slow, has gold in it’s story and characters, it just got luck and attention at the right time, and that’s giving it a longer running. The idea was a kid achieving the impossible, and trying to achieve something that could take years, so for story it almost makes sense it would be long, but it really doesn’t have to be. As far as fillers go, I’ve said what I needed enough. They can help, and be entertaining, and for the love of Christ skip them if your that mad. A filler (although an excessive amount can be very annoying I agree, but shut up, I’m making a point) can’t ruin an anime just like even a cherry on top of your meal whether you like cherries or not can’t ruin it. You can take it off, and it will be fine. As far as the big three goes, I have a shit tone of anime to watch. I’m still just dying to be done with Naruto reviews so I can finally move on and watch something else, (I’m so glad I chose to watch that first!) but eventually we can have plenty of anime reviews in the future, big three or not. But don’t hate a person for liking a big three, and even if you’re the ultimate fan boy of a big three, don’t say it’s the best when it’s the only one of you’ve seen. DBZ is my favorite anime, but that’s because it’s the only god damn one I’ve finished. Even though it’s my favorite, how can I say it’s the best if I’m a novice? Big three watchers and big three haters can all learn a lesson here, and move on and watch whatever they want. Just don’t be a dumb ass or a complete asshole to the other community. These shows overrated or not aren’t bad by any means, but they aren’t a gift from God either. This is coming from a Naruto fanboy.
