And so as Vegeta reaches his Great Ape form, Goku finally learns he’s the one who killed his grandpa. He’s doesn’t get to emotional about it, he’s in the middle of fighting a giant monkey after all. And meanwhile Krillen and Gohan are racing off toward the fight once they feel Goku is in danger. After that Goku keeps getting his ass kicked, and with how bad of shape he’s in you can only imagine the pain he’s going through. His friends at home catch glimpses of his fight, and Chi-Chi manages to pass out yet again. And during this all Goku is trying to accomplish is hitting his new move, the Spirit Bomb, on Vegeta. After a Solar Flare and Kaioken charged run away putting distance between him and Vegeta. He raises his hands to the sky and starts collecting the Earth’s energy. But just as Goku is ready, and just about to fire, Vegeta shoots an energy blast taking down Goku. At this point I think it’s safe to say Goku is done. Vegeta even jumps up and stomps down his legs which are past unusable. Right before he gets another hit however Goku uses the last of his energy to shoot a last ditch effort beam at Vegeta’s eye, which actually works pretty well considering. Vegeta pissed as hell picks Goku up and starts squeezing the life from him. Since Yajirobe had him yelling in pain, this must be a million times worse. The episode ends with Goku screaming for his life. To actually see the hero screaming in murder just feels so wrong it gives you goosebumps. In the end I think this episode is just good. It continues the fight with Vegeta pretty solidly and makes the fight better as a whole, but just is kind of boring and not as gripping as the episodes around it. But as the Vegeta Saga ends who knows what’s to come.
