God, I’ve only cried once from a movie or game or whatever, but this really was close to doing it. So Choji now with the second pill is able to do a lot, and gets a giant move that turns him into a giant, and crushes Jirobo. But then he unveils his final form, which those under the curse mark can do. And he’s like this evil Super Saiyan monster spat out of hell, and he beats Choji down. That’s when the FLASHBACKS start to pull up. And they’re really good ones, despite my teasing of the overuse of flashbacks. It shows Choji as a kid, and you know, he’s being kicked out of some stupid game. Then he’s with his dad and he gives some powerful words of you’ll get some great friends who care for you. And then little kid Shikamaru pops up, and they became the friends they are today, although it made it seem before like they weren’t even friends, but they’ve been, and they’re really good friends at that, which I feel is good character development. Then he eats the final pill, knowing he will die. And there’s this butterfly symbolism thing, and it’s good. But then he starts whooping ass. Not going to lie, I can’t remember the last time I’ve been behind the good guy kicking the bad guy’s ass as much as this part. When I’m like, "YES! KILL THAT FUCKIN’ ASSHOLE!” You know, it’s good. And yeah, after Jirobo dies, that’s when the tear jerking scene pops and it’s so… *sops* sad. The guys left behind a message saying hurry it up whenever, when the guy was like, "How does it feel being left a pawn, I’m a huge douchebag” And yeah, it really fucking hits. Choji is like "I think I’ve made some friends, dad,” and good God does his execution on that line just hit it. And that’s when he dies. But I know he doesn’t, just from pictures of the next show and stuff. I know he’ll find a way out. But fuck me, is this sad. If he died here, I probably would have cried just now. I mean, I just can’t tell enough how good this ending was. And Haku and Zabuza, they died, and I might put them above Sakura. So I hope he doesn’t just come back, and got back to his old jokes, I really hope if he does come back (and I’m like 99% sure he does) then make him awesome. But God, that was some of the most concluding character deaths I’ve seen in awhile, and it was for Choji, a character normally shitted on. Thank you Choji, that’s what should happen to side characters in long anime, you awesome fuck.
