Episode 12 Review (Battle On The Bridge! Zabuza Returns!)

Zabuza And Haku Episode 12 Review (Battle On The Bridge! Zabuza Returns!)

I’m getting sick of Naruto episode tittles being so damn complicated. Not one but two exclamation points for this one! So anyway Haku thought it would be fun to take a day off from masked murderer to quiet feminine boy collecting herbs in a forest. He stumbles on Naruto who is passed out from overnight training, and the two have a  long conversation that was actually pretty important and even gave a glimpse of Haku’s back story. At this point we’ve had enough back-story from the last episode, so I could have held off on that. All Naruto learns Haku’s a dude… could have fooled me. Anyway the scene afterwards I actually really like. We see Naruto right after he’s climbed his first tree, and he even jokes by almost falling. But then he gets rescued by Sasuke and sees that he also learned proper Chakra control. The scene is Naruto and the others all acting like themselves a hundred percent and I don’t know why it just had me smiling. And after that I couldn’t help but keep smiling as after reaching the tree tops Sasuke and Naruto come limping back to dinner while helping each other along. It really helped their rivalry if you ask me when they have moments making them not look like enemies, cause they never were, they were rivals. After that however we have Inari crying some more and getting into an argument with Naruto. It actually has a really deeper meaning behind it, and it really is interesting. Basically Naruto has no sympathy for Inari because he believes the weak always lose, and cries about it later. When people just think Naruto is a hotheaded underdog, things like that help show just how deep his character actually is. And the lesson here is the weak lose to the strong if the weak believes it is weaker, and doesn’t try. Kind of bigger picture lesson for you right there. And later Kakashi tells the kid that Naruto may sound cruel, but he’s probably told himself that a thousand times. Then as Naruto gets to sleep in the to rest (he wakes up and runs off later) the others are ambushed at the bridge by Kakashi and Haku. But Sasuke actually easily defeats some water clones of Zabuza and the episode ends in stare down. Anyway in the end I actually really enjoyed this episode, and it did pretty much all it could to end the training and start the battle. It had deeper meaning and greatly improved some of the characters. Sometimes it needed episodes like the last one to get familiar with characters the episodes like this where they grow up happen. Inari was a tool to help make a message while also greatly improving Naruto’s character, but that couldn’t have been done without his back-story in the last episode. Anyway really great episode, and I just thought it was pretty much as good as it could get, and it actually tried to fit a lot in.
