Kingdom Hearts II: I am currently going through Kingdom Hearts II, (expect a review soon) and I thought, hey I can do some character reviews even before I finish, so here we go. This is the first review from the Organization XIII characters, and some like Luxord are in more games, so I’ll update the review after I play through the other games he may be in like Chain of Memories or 358/2 Days. But I have played those games, so I do know what he does in those games. Luxord is the organization’s tenth member, and fall more on the shoulders of the quick no back-story and hardly any personality characters in the organization. The entire organization is given their own personal weapons and personality that is suppose to help the organization as a whole, and to not give too many drops where you hate everyone but that one guy. But of course the Kingdom Hearts character list I half expect to hit over the 9,000 mark, so there isn’t a lot of time to give to really any of these characters. There are thirteen villains, the Kingdom Hearts heroes, the many Final Fantasy characters, and even more Disney characters, and the list doesn’t leave much time for thirteen villains to all be awesome. Luxord probably has less than five scenes where he talks, so it’s hard to actually like him. But like all members of the organization, you get his attitude, and that’s the important aspect. He usually keeps his cool, has that damn smile, and is cocky. He’s a gambler, and a man of luck, and his face is pretty much what I would imagine when the guy working at the casino is laughing at how bad you suck. He also clearly has a fascination with gambling. His weapon is using cards, and his attributes involve using cards, and his boss fight is very different. In the end he’s one of the more forgettable members in the organization, but that doesn’t mean he sucks. Seeing him in Pirates of the Caribbean and fighting him in the big boss fight was cool, and it’s not like he’s annoying, or drops the ball. But besides that he’s not that good either. As for character design, he looks like he acts, average compared to the rest. But considering he’s a side character that’s so little, and still seems flashy in his own way, he’s still good enough for a three out of five for me.
